At Sycal, we’re constantly on the lookout for green initiatives and processes to help lower our carbon footprint.

Late last year, we partnered with Ecologi, an environmental focussed organisation who are planting trees across the globe to help with the climate crisis. With over 38,000 members, Ecologi has successfully funded the planting of 52.6 million trees and helped reduced 2.3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide.

Working alongside numerous trusted climate projects such as Eden Reforestation Projects, Trees for the Future, and Verified Carbon Standard, Ecologi is a benchmark for reforestation.

For the last year, we’ve been funding the monthly planting of trees as well as projects designed to offset the carbon immissions of our staff. This funding has gone into such projects as:

So far, we’ve helped offset 88.6 tonnes of CO₂e and as of this month, we’ve funded the planting of 10,000 trees! The aforementioned Eden Reforestation Project ensures that all of the workers planting the trees are provided with fair wages designed to help boost the socioeconomic in impoverished villages.

With every single order valued at £750+, we fund the planting of 25 trees in Mozambique, Kenya, Madagascar, Tanzania, and Argentina. In our mangrove restoration projects, our trees have a survival rate of 80%+, however, between the ages of 3-5 these trees begin to produce their own propagules resulting in natural regeneration.
