Sycal’s Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
Storming Our Second Peak For A Charity Challenge
This weekend, the Sycal team is heading up to Cumbria, as we take on our toughest charity challenge to date.
Following the success of last September’s Snowdon climb, we’re taking on the incredible Scafell Pike; England’s tallest mountain, to raise money for the truly wonderful Macmillan Cancer Support Charity.
Scafell Pike looms at a breathtaking 3,209ft, a formidable challenge that will see us face six miles of uneven terrain. With a clear but very cold day ahead of us, this will most likely be our most taxing charity challenge, but for Adam’s family, the struggle is far greater.
Why We Climb for Macmillan
Macmillan is a beacon of hope for those battling cancer and their families, wherever they are in their journeys. They provide invaluable emotional, practical, and financial support, making a tangible difference in the face of adversity.
The charity is 98% funded by voluntary donations, so fundraising is essential to make sure they can deliver vital support to those living in the hardship of a cancer diagnosis.
This year, cancer struck close to home when Adam’s sister, Charlotte, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Macmillan’s support has been a lifeline for Charlotte, her husband, their two young children, and her entire family as she undergoes chemotherapy.
At Sycal, we want to show our thanks for this incredible charity and all of the hard work they do.
Raising the Bar for Macmillan
While Scafell Pike may be slightly smaller than our previous climbs, it’s a more demanding challenge designed to push us to the limit. Each step we take is fueled by the knowledge that we’re making a difference. We’ve already surpassed last year’s target as well as our original target of £1000!
So we’re aiming to climb even higher and push that to £1500 for Macmillan!
