Storming to the Summit for Macmillan Cancer Support

Following the success of our Snowdon climb last year, the Sycal team is back at it again! This April, we’re taking on the mighty Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, to raise money for the incredible Macmillan Cancer Support.

Towering at an incredible 3,209ft, our trip will take us up six miles of rough uneven terrain to reach the summit. With snow and minus temperatures not too uncommon, this is going to be our toughest challenge to date, but we’re going to give it our all to reach the peak for an incredible cause.

Why Macmillan?

Macmillan is an incredible charity that provides emotional, practical, physical, and financial support to people living with cancer. Their invaluable help, guidance and dedication to making a difference in these difficult situations is truly inspiring.

The charity is 98% funded by voluntary donations, so fundraising is essential to make sure they can deliver vital support to those living with cancer at every stage of their experience.

The incredible charity is currently helping support our colleague Adam’s family. Earlier this year, Adam’s sister, Charlotte, was diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

It may be a long journey ahead, but Macmillan’s help and support is making the journey a little bit easier.

Charlotte is showing great strength and determination in beating this terrible disease. As a family, they are all standing by her side supporting her, but Macmillan takes this even further with their knowledge, understanding, and ongoing aid they’re providing to Adam’s sister, her husband, two young children and the whole family.

We want to give our thanks to this incredible organisation and raise as much money as possible so that they can provide this care and knowledge to those affected across the UK.

A Bigger Challenge, A Bigger Goal!

Although slightly smaller, Scafell Pike presents a more formidable challenge than Snowdon and will push our team to the limit. But the thought of the positive impact we can make through fundraising keeps us motivated.

We’ve already smashed last year’s target and raised over £800 so far! However, we’re aiming to climb even higher (figuratively, of course) and raise even more for this fantastic cause.
